Kolakowski
1951-2008
Thomas L. “Tom” Kolakowski, 56, Lakewood died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 22.
The son of the late Raymond and Lucille (Heinemann) Kolakowski was born Aug. 31,
1951, in the Town of Chase, Shawano County. When he was three his mother passed
away and when he was five his father married Victoria (Swiecichowski) Mihalski
and relocated to Krakow.
After graduation from Pulaski High School, he worked in construction for RW
Builders, Gillett and then DMK Construction. On May 21, 1988, he married Geri
Peerson and the couple owned PB’s Hideaway in Lakewood for nine years. After
selling the bar he worked for Mountain Stone Works until the present. He was a
volunteer for the Lakewood Fire Department and the Townsend-Lakewood Ambulance
as a first responder. He was also a member of the Muscle Maniacs Car Club.
Survivors include his wife, Geri; five children, Mrs. Abe (Dawn) Jennings of Two
Rivers, Rob Kolakowski of River Falls, Mrs. Bob (Lona) Norris and Stewart
(Darla) Schaal, both of Lakewood and Matthew (Myra) Kolakowski of Fort Hood,
Tex.; eight grandchildren; adopted mom and dad, Dick and Joyce Delveaux of
Mountain; three sisters, Bridget Liddle of Green Bay, Bernadine Dohnal of
Brookfield, Ill. and Rosanne Tendy of Chicago, Ill; a brother, Patrick (Frances)
Mihalski of Lyons, Ill.; seven aunts and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray; his mother, Lucille; his step
mother, Victoria; father-in-law, Albert and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 27, at St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic
Church, Lakewood from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m.
until the time of service at 10 a.m. Suminski Funeral Home is assisting the
family.
